Aloha and welcome! My name is Ann Dunikus and I am also known as Evee. This website is dedicated to all those who are awakening to the new consciousness taking place on the planet. It is with my deepest love and appreciation that I share the content here in an effort to bring together those of like mind and spirit. This site is all about awakening, shifting consciousness, indigenous wisdom, and nature. Come on in, take your shoes off, get comfortable, and let me offer you refreshment!
HOW IT ALL STARTED
Back in 2005, I was on the verge of suicide because the insanity of the world had finally gotten the best of me. I was living in my own personal hell, which I now know was my wake up call. I was fortunate enough to have had a former friend who had passed away in 1997, volunteer to come back and guide me back to the truth of my existence. What transpired over the next several years was nothing short of miraculous and magical and that is what inspired me to write my story, The Wonderful Wizard of Is (Israel Kamakawiwo'ole). I knew Israel while living in Hawaii many years ago when he was still a teenager. I have never known anyone like him. My short time spent in Hawaii was to play the most pivotal part in my awakening almost thirty years later. The book can be purchased at Amazon.com here.
I cannot begin to explain what a profound effect the Hawaiian culture has had on me. Even though I lived there briefly, the lessons from my time spent there continue to enrich my life in countless ways. Meeting Israel Kamakawiwo'ole was the biggest thing. Most people are quite familiar with him, as his music has made it on the charts all over the world and has also been featured in movies, on TV shows, in commercials, and in toys. Although that is what he is known for, to me he is so much more. He is my friend and guide who I will be forever grateful to and who I miss with all my heart. He is a beacon of light during these times and is assisting people all over the globe as they awaken.
LOMILOMI & LAULIMA
If you have read my book, you know how I first became introduced to the Hawaiian art of lomilomi lapa' au, or healing massage. For the enlightened practitioner, lomilomi can indeed be a portal to profound healing for those in need. For the rest of us practicing lomilomi, it is an act of love that flows from the heart to help another on their journey back to self. Either way, it is a practice of love being shared with the pure intention of imparting aloha, and love is always the best healer.
Laulima, the ancient art of laying of hands, is another profound tool for sharing love and healing with others. It is performed in groups with four people laying hands on one person and rotating positions after each session. It is also a wonderful tool of love to be done on anyone needing physical healing. The only requirement for laulima is an activated heart chakra and the intention of spreading aloha and healing to everyone. I would love to see more groups getting together to practice laulima and possibly forming groups to visit the sick and offer their services.
Here is a beautiful Hawaiian love song by Eddie Kamae & Larry Kimura
sung by Israel called
E Ku'u Morning Dew
E ku'u morning dew, alia mai, alia mai
My morning dew, wait, wait
Maliu mai 'oe i ka' u a hea nei
Heed hither me, to my calling here
I kali mai 'oe, ia'u nei ia'u nei
Wait for me, to me here, to me here
"O wau iho no me ke aloha
I remain deeply indeed with love
Wehe mai ke alaula 'oli liko me lihau
Open the joyful budding light of the early dawn with gentle cool rain
E ho' ohehelo ana i nei a papalina
Become proud of your appearance here
I uka o Mana i ka 'iu uhiwai
To the uplands of Mana to the heavily misted sacred place
Ma laila no kaua e pili mau ai
There for you and me to join together
Ma laila no kaua e pili mau ai
There for you and me to join together
